There is more to buying a home than finding a home that meets your needs on Zillow. Once you get find a buyer for your home or find the home of your dreams, there is lots of real estate contracts involved. You need to make sure your Realtor knows the area where you are protected, the areas your at risk. And they need to know the leverage points in real estate contracts to negotiate the best possible deal for you and your family.
#2. Having Established Relationships in the Industry - It is extremely important that your Realtor has symbiotic relationships within the real estate industry. Having partnerships with mortgage companies, lenders, title officers, escrow officers, and home inspectors can be a huge asset when buying or selling. With how large the real estate industry is it's critical to have people that you know, trust, and can rely on. If you need expert advise on a specific area of the home buying process it's invaluable to have that expert on speed dial.
#3. Having a Realtor You Trust - At the end of the day your Realtor has a fiduciary responsibility to look out for your best interests. Trust is not owned but rented every day. While looking for your Realtor find someone who builds on trust daily that you can depend upon. Basically your Realtor should have your back throughout the entire home buying/selling process.
